Sonica is constructed in a 1926 building that was completely renovated in 2000-2001. We are located in the Atlantic Station district in west Midtown Atlanta.
Rebuilt from the ground up as a tracking facility, with large comfortable spaces and tremendous sound isolation between all studio rooms. All Studio walls are double masonry block walls filled with sand. All studio floors are 7” concrete floated on neoprene isolators. All studio ceilings are 4” concrete, with a floated inner ceiling on spring/neoprene hangers. High flow A/C systems that are virtually silent.
Studio Layout: a large comfortable control room faces the live room. Three large Iso booths are
accessed from the live room, all linked with windows and tie lines. The large live room has a distinct acoustic personality from the wood and masonry walls, adding a wonderful ambience to recorded sounds. The three isolation booths are acoustically quiet, for very clean recording.
The client lounge has a full kitchen and bathroom with shower, plus private in/out access to an outside lounge area. Client lounge has satellite TV and wireless internet.
